Cold & Cute

It's been so cold here in Oregon the last few weeks, the kind of cold we aren't used to. I can't remember winters here where it's clear and 9 degrees out with a breeze. I mean what in the world is that about?? Last week Joe mentioned to me that the fountain at school had froze and it looked really cool, I should go with him to pickup a book for next semester and check out the fountain of frost to get some photo's.
When we got to the school there was quite the line to wait in for book return so West and I sat down in the window on the little wall heater but it wasn't on :( The light from the window though was just beautiful on West's little pale cheeks so I pulled out my camera as he played with Joe's IPOD touch and we got some great shots!

Indiana's Holiday

Had a great time meeting up with an friend from High School. Janelle and I were very good friends all thru high school and one of my favorite things about her was her laugh. You could reconize it from a mile away! She and I were meeting to take holiday photo's of her daughter Indiana for the Christmas cards she was sending out this year.
We met on a very cold Saturday morning in Vancouver at the Marshal House on Officers Row at Ft. Vancouver. The homes are huge beautiful vintage homes that are kept up for weddings, events, and photo's at least in todays case. The home was decorated for the holidays. Garlend on the rails of the wrap around porch and decorated trees in the Dining and Living rooms. I beautiful staircase that was dressed in holiday spirit as well and a huge fireplace which made things cozy and warm. We had a beautiful setting for our photo session!
I told Janelle that even though I would come to shoot Indiana that she should dress to be in the photo's too! I know that we adults don't like to always step in front of the camera but when we do once in a while it can be something wonderful for us and for our children.

This beautiful room in the back of the house was wide open with the most beauiful vintage ornate couch smack in the center, I knew I had to shoot with this piece
